Private ADHD assessment in weeks, not years
Attention to Health is a UK clinic providing expert-led ADHD assessment and treatment for adults. If you have read through ADHSpace and wondered whether a formal diagnosis is worth pursuing, they are the team we point people to.
Who they are
Attention to Health was set up by a group of clinicians who had spent years working in NHS adult ADHD services and wanted to offer the same standard of care without the wait. Their team includes consultant psychiatrists, GPs with a special interest in ADHD and clinical psychologists, all GMC or HCPC registered.
Assessments follow UKAAN standards and NICE guideline NG87, using established semi-structured interviews and standardised rating scales. Every assessment is discussed with the wider multidisciplinary team before feedback is given, so you get more than one clinician’s opinion on the outcome.
They work with adults across the UK, offer online appointments as standard, and can take over care from the NHS or another private provider if you already have a diagnosis.
How their pathway works
Three steps, whether you are starting from scratch or transferring from another provider.
Expert consultation
Talk through your symptoms, history and concerns with a specialist clinician. They will tell you whether a full assessment is the right next step.
Full ADHD assessment
A comprehensive clinical assessment by a specialist doctor or psychologist, following NICE guideline NG87 and UKAAN standards. Includes a detailed diagnostic report, usually delivered within 2–4 weeks.
Treatment & ongoing support
After a diagnosis, a personalised treatment plan covering medication, lifestyle advice and psychological therapy, with reviews as things change.
Why people choose them
CQC regulated
Registered with the Care Quality Commission, so the same regulatory standards apply as in the NHS.
Weeks, not years
Most people are assessed within 2–4 weeks, rather than waiting on an NHS list that runs to several years in many areas.
Online by default
Appointments are usually held online, with in-person assessments available if you would rather be seen face to face.
Reports that travel
Assessment reports can be tailored for work, university or insurance, and medication can be delivered to your door.
Dr Laura Wade
Dr Wade is the lead psychologist at the Adult ADHD Service with Avon & Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership Trust, and previously worked for the Oxfordshire ADHD service. She is one of Attention to Health’s partners and carries out assessments, formulation and therapy.
She is also listed on ADHSpace as a psychologist and psychotherapist, which means you can work with her on the ongoing side of things — coaching, therapy and adjustment to a diagnosis — as well as through an expert consultation with Attention to Health.
Where ADHSpace fits in
ADHSpace doesn’t diagnose anyone — we help you find the right person for whatever stage you are at. If you are still working out whether ADHD explains what you are experiencing, start with our matching quiz. If you already have a diagnosis and need support at work, Access to Work may cover ADHD coaching.
